Perfect Brew

Brewing coffee is more than pouring hot water over grounds. Small adjustments in grind size, water temperature, and timing can dramatically change your cup.

Use Fresh Beans

Freshly roasted coffee contains aromatic oils that give flavor and depth. Always store beans in an airtight container away from light and moisture. For best results, grind just before brewing.

Measure Accurately

Consistency is key. A common golden ratio is 1:15 (1 gram coffee to 15 grams water). Using a kitchen scale ensures precision and better results.

Water Quality Matters

Coffee is 98% water. Use filtered water to avoid chlorine or mineral interference. Ideal brewing temperature ranges between 90–96°C (195–205°F).

Match Grind to Method

  • French Press → Coarse grind
  • Pour Over → Medium grind
  • Espresso → Fine grind

Using the wrong grind size can cause bitterness (over-extraction) or sourness (under-extraction).
